The Adoption Review Draft is the version of the LDC that will be the focus of community review from July through late September. It will be open for comments during that entire timeframe.
This version will not be revised until the completion of the Planning Commission review schedule (see Home page). Proposed changes will be listed on the project website following Planning Commission or Steering Committee meetings.

Full LDC - Consolidated DRaft

The Consolidated Draft is a combination of all three of the individually drafted modules, combined to allow readers to see how the full LDC is put together. This is NOT the final version of the LDC. It will be edited to include changes from the Steering Committee, Planning Staff, and community. An updated, edited final draft will be posted in early June for further review before Lawrence Planning Commission consideration in late June.

Though Module 1 content is included in this draft, we encourage you to focus your review on the Module 2 topics:

Minor revisions within Module 1 content (Articles 2-8) have been made and are described on page 17. The substantive majority of those articles have not changed since the public draft was released in July of 2023. The Consolidated Draft will incorporate revisions based on feedback received on that draft in addition to any comments received about the articles in Module 2, as well as Module 3.

The Land Development Code team is working to create the design standards that future development in Lawrence will follow, which includes elements such as landscaping, local architecture, infrastructure, and more, which all help to define community character. LDC Kickoff Summary - August 2022
The Lawrence Land Development Code (LDC) update project kicked off in late August 2022 with a series of public meetings to discuss issues and opportunities in the current zoning and subdivision regulations. These meetings included a variety of round table discussions with local residents and stakeholder groups as well as a meeting with the LDC Steering Committee.
